Terms of Service
1. The service
TypeRoot ("we", "us") provides a free online personality test and optional paid digital reports ("the Service") at typeroot.pages.dev. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Nature of the results
The test produces a personality profile based on your self-reported answers. Results are provided for personal insight and entertainment. They are not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, or career diagnosis, and must not be used as a basis for hiring, therapy, legal, or medical decisions. If you have mental-health concerns, consult a qualified professional.
3. Unofficial test
TypeRoot is an original instrument inspired by Carl Jung's psychological type theory. It is not the official MBTI® assessment and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Myers-Briggs Company. "MBTI" and the four-letter type codes are used only descriptively, where they are well-known shorthand, to help people understand the tradition this test draws from.
4. Paid reports
Paid reports are digital goods delivered as PDF to the email address provided at purchase. Because they are digital and instantly delivered, purchases are non-refundable except under our 14-day money-back guarantee described on the Refunds page. You agree to provide a valid email and acknowledge that delivery depends on it.
Payments are processed by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Gumroad at checkout.
5. License
When you buy a report, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to use it for yourself. You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or incorporate the report or any TypeRoot content (including test questions and type descriptions) into your own products, without our written permission.
6. Content you create
You may share your own test result (your four-letter code and description of it) freely — the result is yours. Please don't reproduce substantial portions of the test questions or paid reports publicly.
7. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to abuse, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, and don't use it to harass or mislead anyone.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if anything, in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
